Summer Bishil Bio

 Summer Bishil was a Pasadena, California native. She and her family moved overseas when she was only three. Summer went to American and British schools in the midst of her family living abroad. They returned to Pasadena in the days before her 14th birthday. Summer, who had been obsessed with the idea that she would eventually become an actor since the age five years old she took her first acting class at the age of 14. Nine months later, she signed with an agent and an agent and started to follow her goal full-time. In her spare time, she is enrolled in college and studying for her degree. She was among the young stars featured in Vanity Fair’s August 2008 cover feature, "Hollywood’s New Wave: Hollywood's Most Hot Kids in Hollywood". Bishil began acting classes at the age of 14. Within one year Bishil was offered an employment contract by a management or agency. Bishil started her career as a character on the Nickelodeon TV show Just for Kicks. After that, she was signed to an agreement with a management and agency. Her breakout role was in Alan Ball's 2007 film Towelhead. It is an adaptation of the novel of the same title. Dana Stevens, a critic for Slate she said that Bishil's performance was "the most genuine thing" in a film that even with the best intentions appeared to be fake and a little embarrassing. It was something like an extended PSA about inappropriate touching. Bob Strauss, who writes for a variety of Los Angeles newspapers, states that Bishil, "...is one of the best natural film actresses to emerge in recent times." Gary Goldstein in a September 12 Los Angeles Times review of the film Towelhead said that "...newcomer Summer Bishil turns in a gutsy, quietly thrilling performance as Jasira. "In 2009, she made Wayne Kramer's new project, Crossing Over, starring Harrison Ford, Ray Liotta and Ashley Judd, a portrayal that garnered some positive attention from the Associated Press's Jay Reiner. She was chosen to play Azula in M. Night Shyamalan’s film The Last Airbender (2010). The sequel never produced.
